Jollibee is one of the old fast-food chains here in the Philippines. There are a lot of commercials that they produce and more of them have a story. In this tvc, the message they want to portray is how to court a girl. The boy in the video went to the house of the girl bringing flowers and she is asking the girl to go for a date. The father of the girl is questioning the boy and asking questions about the background of the boy. You can see here how teenager in past court girls, they don’t ask a girl just through text like nowadays. They really go to the house of the one they are courting and personally ask the parents of the girl if they will allow their daughter to go out with him. They show respect to the parents and through this, they will show how serious you are in their daughter. By doing this, you are not just getting the heart of the girl but also the whole family. It is a big contrast nowadays, because majority of the boys are just asking girls to go out through text and don’t get the consent of their parents. Because of this, girls tend to lie if where they will go just like they will tell their parents that they will go out and make a group project but the real thing is that she is just going for a date with his boyfriend.
