    Manila Luzon

    Filipino-American International Drag Icon, Recording Artist, RuPaul’s Drag Race Alumna and host of DragDen Philippines

    Manila Luzon is an international drag queen most famous for her campy twist on glamor, silly cross-eyed expressions, and signature black and blonde wigs. She first competed in the third season of Emmy Award winning RuPaul’s Drag Race. Leaving a sweet taste for more, Manila blossomed into a pop culture sensation with appearances in shows like seasons 1 & 4 of RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars, General Hospital, and Drag University.

    It’s been quite a journey for Manila Luzon and she shows no sign of slowing down. Her lifestyle brand “Fineapple Couture” which sells a chic collection of attire, books, accessories, and silly collectibles recently announced a partnership with Jiggly Caliente that supports healthcare for the LGBTQ of NYC.

    Mio Chongson is the President of one of the country’s multi awarded agencies, Ace Saatchi & Saatchi. She is also the President of Saatchi’s tech subsidiary, Make Technology.

    With over 30 years in advertising handling over 100 brands in various categories, Mio’s extensive advertising career is built solidly on her people management skills.

    Apart from her management positions in her previous agencies, she has undertaken leadership roles for the development of the ad industry by serving as Chairperson of the 4As, Jury Chairperson of the critically-acclaimed 2016 Metro Manila Film Festival, Chairperson for the 4As AOY Awards, and consistent jury member in creative and effectiveness shows.

    Adweek named Badger a “Disruptor” for spearheading revolution in the advertising industry, while the 4As has recognized her as one of the 100 People Who Make Advertising Great. In September 2021, Cosmetic Executive Women honored Badger with its “Lifetime Achievement Award.”

She is the current President of the Board of IMMAP (Internet and Mobile Marketing Association of the Philippines). She is a co-founder of Dama Ko Lahi Ko, a movement that aims to spotlight Filipino culture on the global stage. She is also the president of Fountain Pen Network-Philippines, which organizes the Manila Pen Show and aims to keep the art of handwriting alive. She is @leighpod on most social platforms.

    With more than 25 years worth of marketing communications under her belt, Golda has managed a comprehensive array of multinational and local brand leaders such as Unilever, Pepsi, Shell, Bayer, Nestle, UFC, San Miguel, McDonald’s, J&J, Manulife, Del Monte, and Globe.

    Throughout her career, she honed her client management skills by working with the best creative hothouses and strategic shops like JWT, BBDO, TBWA and Leo Burnett. She helped win numerous local and international awards and accolades, including the Philippines’ first and second Gold Cannes Lion during her first stint at JWT Manila.

    In 2019, JWT and Wunderman merged to be Wunderman Thompson, with her appointed as CEO of Wunderman Thompson Philippines. Golda continues her trademark winning streak: in March 2021, Wunderman Thompson Philippines took home the only GOLD for the country for the Globe “A Star Wars Experience for All” campaign in Digital Strategy at the Tangrams Strategy and Effectiveness Awards. And in September 2021, WT won Best in Management of Business at the 4As AOY Awards which celebrates creativity in driving growth, fiscal and people management.

    Teeny Gonzales

    Teeny Gonzales is the CEO of independent agency, Seven A.D. Before setting up her own agency with 6 other partners, she worked in McCann for 17 years, 12 of which was spent handling primarily the Coca-Cola account, working on all the beverage brands, as well as Del Monte, J&J, Jollibee and Nestle. She then moved to McCann’s sister company, Harrison, as Executive Creative Director for major accounts like Globe, Unilab and URC. She then moved to DDB where she was also ECD, this time handling McDonald’s, Smart and PLDT. She and her team produced iconic campaigns like “Pa-cheesburger” and “Huling El Bimbo” for McDonald’s and the phenomenal “Ako Mismo” advocacy for the PLDT/Smart Foundation for the national elections.

    Today, Seven A.D. continues to produce popular and award-winning campaigns like the famous “Resorts World Manila” whisper, the long-running PSBank Simple lang, Maasahan campaign, Jack ‘n Jill snacks and Magic Cracker ads to name a few. Their work has also been awarded and recognized in local and international awards like The Kidlat Awards, Araw Awards, Clio, London International Awards, New York Festival, Advertising and Marketing Effectiveness and Spikes. Seven A.D. has also been named the 4As Independent Agency of the Year for 7 years in a row since 2014 and has also won Campaign Asia’s Philippine Independent agency for 2018. The agency also won AOY Best in Market Performance for 2017, besting some of the biggest multinational agencies in the industry.

    Tin Sanchez

    Tin Sanchez is the Deputy Executive Creative Director of Wunderman Thompson Philippines.

    She has worked in big agencies in different parts of the world – North America, United Kingdom, Vietnam and Malaysia. Tin has also served as a jury member of local and international shows, including Cannes Lions and London International Awards.

    Budjette tan

    Writer, Storyteller, Co-Creator of TRESE, and Senior Brand Creative at The LEGO Group Denmark

    He supposedly grew up in a haunted house and was told to sleep early because there were aswang outside their bedroom window. Who would’ve known that these stories would later influence and inspire him to write the comic book TRESE, co-created with artist Kajo Baldisimo.

    Their comic book is a three time winner of Best Graphic Literature of the Year in the Philippine National Book Awards. (2009, 2011, 2012)

    He is also the writer and co-creator of “THE DARK COLONY Book 1: Mikey Recio and the Secret of the Demon Dungeon”, which also won the same award in 2013.

    Budjette was a co-editor for Alamat Comics, The Lost Journal of Alejandro Pardo: Creatures and Beasts of Philippine Folklore and SOUND: A Comic Book Anthology (co-edited with Charis Locke, published by Difference Engine).

    He now works in Denmark as one of the Creative Leads in the LEGO Agency. He lives there with his wife and son, far away from any aswang – or so they think!

    (By the way, his name is pronounced “budget”, but please don’t ask him any questions about finance.)

    Aste Gutiérrez is a Creative Director, Writer, and Musician based in NY. He currently works at Droga5 New York, Adweek and AdAge’s ‘Agency of the Decade’.

    He’s among the world’s most decorated creatives, with 20 Cannes Lions including a Grand Prix and 4 Golds, 13 D&AD Pencils including 2 Yellows, 2 Grand Clios, 17 One Show nods, and 7 Webbys, among others. His work has helped earn 3 straight AdAge ‘Agency A-List’ nods, and prior, 2 straight AdAge ‘International Agency of the Year’ wins.

    He lives in Brooklyn with his account director wife, Junnis, and their magical 4-year old daughter Artemis.

    After starting his career in London, David spent five years in Hong Kong and then moved to Manila. In 1998 he founded BBDO Guerrero, after just 10 years in the business. The agency has won Grand Prix at AdFest, AdStars and WARC. And over 50 Gold, Silver and Bronze awards at Cannes, Clio, D&AD and The One Show. In 2007, David was named the first Jury President at the Cannes Lions Festival from South-East Asia. He has since been part of many other juries in most parts of the world and these days, of course, judges from home. Never one to miss an opportunity, David is taking this chance to plug his upcoming book on creativity, The Crap Ideas Book, from Milflores Publishing, which will appear in time for the holidays and make a perfect stocking-stuffer for the creative person in your life.

    Merlee is one of the 8 celebrated women Chief creative officers in the world, based on 2019 drum global ranking. She is a 4As Hall of Famer, IABC CEO of the year, the first Campaign Asia Creative of the Year for Southeast Asia, a seasoned Jury lead in major award shows and international speaker in creative festivals. She has written and illustrated her first book – “Everyone can be creative”, where she has shared her secrets, personal processes and stories on how she has survived this industry using the power of creativity.

    Uma Rudd Chia

    Uma Rudd is the Co-Founder and Executive Creative Director of KVUR.
    She had over two decades of experience as a global creative director at various multi-national advertising agencies, and authored two best sellers, Hey Pastor! Your Church is Going Out of Business and Who Killed Death? At the start of the Covid-19 pandemic, she wrote her third book, 10 Things Brands Could Do To Survive A Crisis which became a Kindle bestseller overnight and a playbook for brands to navigate the Covid-19 climate.

    Andy Blood

    Andy is a writer, thinker, strategist and maker with an overall 25 years experience in advertising and 5 years in
    technology. He is also an AACTA accredited screenwriter and Executive Producer of the award-winning
    documentary Losing Lena, which challenged gender bias in technology, and is now held in the Australian film archive.

    Andy is also a fearless creator, an ex Facebook Creative Strategist and former World’s Most Highly Awarded Executive Creative Director and triple Cannes Grand prix winner, he will – in mid October – publish his book ‘Full Bleed’ as a series of NFTs. In keeping with its subject, Creativity, Full Bleed will test the boundaries of how
    we publish and consume content.

    Maisie Littaua

    Maisie Littaua is the Head of Growth for Canva Philippines. Canva is an online design and publishing tool which makes graphic design simple for everyone. Since launching in 2013, Canva has grown to over 40 million users across 190 countries, with more than 3 billion designs created, at 80 designs per second.

    Prior to being the Head of Growth, Maisie was Canva’s Head of Marketplace in the Philippines. She joined Canva in 2016 as the first Content Specialist in Manila, where she helped grow the template library from 5,000 to over 40,000 by scaling template production. 

    Angel Guerrero

    Angel Guerrero founded adobo magazine in 2006 after a 15-year career at McCann-Erickson Philippines. Under Angel’s leadership, adobo magazine has become one of Asia’s most influential publications on advertising and brand communications and is a three-time Top Award winner at the Philippine Quill Awards.

    In 2016, Angel was awarded the Asia-Pacific Tambuli Crimson Award as an eminent industry leader in marketing communication, and in 2017, she was awarded the International Lifetime Achievement Award by AD STARS.

    Angie Tijam-Tohid

    ANGIE TIJAM-TOHID is Creative Director & Head of Content at Ace Saatchi & Saatchi.

    Her work has been recognized in local and international awards for creativity and effectiveness with more than 60 metals and distinctions. She has been a jury member at local and global festivals on creativity, serving three times at Spikes Asia and was on the 2021 Cannes Lions Outdoor Shortlist Jury. She was the only Filipino and Asian juror on the recent Young Lions Digital Competition at Cannes, and the sole Filipino jury member at The One Club for Creativity’s Young Guns 19. Angie was the Creative Panel Head in the recent 23rd AOY Management Committee.

    Ali Silao

    Ali Silao is currently Head of Art at Six-time Independent Agency of the Year winner, Seven A.D. Before this he worked at BBDO Guerrero and TBWA\Santiago Mangada Puno.

    Ali took home the Philippines’ first Gold in the Young Spikes Competition in 2010. In 2013, his team gave the country its first Webby Award for a short film called “Gift of Life.” His project, Shokobutsu Hana Water Billboard won the Grand Clio award in 2015. His works have also been recognized in Cannes, D&AD, One Show, Clio, LIA, Webby, Spikes, Adfest, Adstars, Adobo Design, Kidlat, Boomerang, AME, Digital Asia, Tinta, Tangrams, Araw, and Caples.

    Aside from creating campaigns for major brands such as Pepsi, Old Spice, SPAM®, and Department of Tourism, Ali has also given numerous advertising talks in San Beda University, Polytechnic University of the Philippines, De La Salle University, Lyceum of the Philippines, National University, PJMA’s Juan Big Idea in Malaybalay City, Bukidnon, the University of the Philippines Diliman, and his alma mater, the University of the Philippines Los Baños. Among his works, he’s most proud of helping launch the Creative Guild x Google Jam for Good Creative Competition – a platform where all young advertisers can use their creativity and ideas for a greater good.

    Joey David Tiempo is the Founder and Chief Creative of Octopus&Whale, a Game and Experience Design Agency based in Manila.

    She was formerly the Executive Creative Director of Nuworks Interactive Labs, the largest independent digital advertising agency in the Philippines, and before that, the Executive Creative Director for TBWA\Digital Arts Network.

    Joey’s body of work has been recognized at Cannes Lions, D&AD, One Show, Clio, AWARD Awards, LIA, New York Festivals, Spikes Asia, AdFest, AdStars, Digital Asia Festival, AMES, and others. She has been invited to serve as jury in the Cannes Lions, D&AD, ADC, New York Festivals, Spikes Asia, AdFest and AdStars.
