About a year and a half ago, we renovated our office. It was by no means cheap. But it was considered well worth the investment to give our amazing team the work space they deserved. A place they could be proud of and be comfortable in, a place conducive to creating the high level work they regularly churn out, a place to brainstorm and bond, a place with fantastic natural light and, of course, industrial ceilings with exposed utilities. Today, that office is empty.
We work instead- well, wherever we are. As most of us have come to understand, WFH has its pluses and minuses. It’s probably not what its staunchest millennial proponents always imagined it would be, but it has most certainly and permanently changed the way we do business. Is Gobo ready to go back? Well, the new social distancing dividers were installed a few weeks ago, but not just yet. Probably never in quite the same way.
But here are two undeniable advantages. One, we set out to make a space where our team would be comfortable working. Now, each of them can define that for themselves, and on a daily basis. Two, our office is now the biggest office ever.
